REGINA CARTER QUARTET
Regina Carter is a virtuoso violinist and orchestra director who is leaving a real mark in the world of jazz. Her classical training allows her to approach different musical fields with a precise and elegant presence. In her latest album, on the occasion of Ella Fitzgerald's centenary, Carter revealed the influence of the First Lady of Song. She has recorded with Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle, with legendary jazz pianist, Kenny Barron, and also with the trumpeter and director of ‘Jazz at Lincoln Center’, Wynton Marsalis.
With his deep baritone voice, Gregory Porter is a 21st-century crooner, winning two Grammy awards and several nominations. His performances approach perfection, combining jazz, soul, and also the songs of the musician who marked his childhood: Nat King Cole. In Vitoria-Gasteiz he will play songs from the album that was his tribute to Cole, as well as other songs from the Grammy-winning album, "Liquid Spirit", and, perhaps, even give us a taste of his new work, which will be released in the autumn.
