Arturo Sandoval, winner of 10 Grammys Throughout more than half a century of musical career, Arturo Sandoval has become a true legend of Cuban music. Protected by Dizzy Gillespie —who invited him to join the United Nations Orchestra— and a founding member of the Irakere seminals along with Chucho Valdés and Paquito D'Rivera, Sandoval has also cultivated the classical genre or the bolero, with the same mastery that has made him one of the most exciting trumpet virtuosos of recent decades.
