This Spanish pianist lives in New York, where she has made a name for herself, in what is one of the most competitive circuits in the jazz world. She is coming to Vitoria-Gasteiz with her quintet of American musicians, with whom she has a great connection that she transmits to the public. Playing her own repertoire, Marta Sánchez has managed to explore the depths of jazz in her role as performer, composer and director.

IÑIGO RUIZ DE GORDEJUELA. KONEXIOA
The young Basque pianist, a graduate of the Jesús Guridi Conservatory in Vitoria-Gasteiz and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, returns to his adopted city to participate in Konexioa, a project that connects Basque and American musicians. On this occasion, the group, led by Iñigo Ruiz de Gordejuela, will bring both origins together to unite innovation and tradition.

AMBROSE AKINMUSIRE & KOKAYI
The evolution of Ambrose Akinmusire proves that those who saw him as the future of jazz were certainly not mistaken. His latest album, Origami Harvest, hailed as one of the best releases of the year by international critics, has been a breakthrough for this trumpeter. Akinmusire combines jazz tradition with elements of hip-hop, funk and soul to make an anti-racist and anti-classist statement. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, he is performing with a string quartet and the rapper Kokayi. A fusion of sounds with the trumpeter as the unifying axis.
